Plum Pox Project - January 2007 Update
The plum pox project at Laboratory Services should be happening again this year.
The University of Guelph - Laboratory Services recruits many students each year to work on the Plum Pox project. Students interested in these jobs should send their cover letter and resume to ppv@lsd.uoguelph.ca
Laboratory Services offer a pay rate of between $10-14/hour, employment that will serve your future resume very well, an opportunity to work on a team of approximately 60 people in a state-of-the-art facility.
The majority of students hired will be from a science-based program at a recognized university or college. However, students that are enrolled in other programs are not discouraged from applying. Preference will be given to University of Guelph students. Attention to detail and an understanding of basic laboratory operations is an asset. Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control in an ISO 9000 / ISO 17025 accredited environment would benefit potential candidates prior to submitting a resume and/or attending a job interview.
Job interviews will be conducted in April and May.
While the Project Manager understands the competitive environment for summer jobs, he regrets that he will not be able to return the majority of phone calls. However, he guarantees that your cover letter and resume will be thoroughly reviewed if sent to the above stated email.
